Priest is the healer among An Average Campaign's seven base classes: it heals with Cure Light Wounds and Holy Imbue and softens targets with Bane. This an average campaign priest guide covers the kit, skill tree, how to unlock Druid, Zealot and Occultist, and editorial build picks.

It is based on the official Trello cards, the Roblox game page and player-documented notes for Alpha v0.5.1, checked October 20, 2026. The game is in Alpha and numbers move often; where the Trello (last edited April 2026) and newer community notes disagree, the newer value is shown.

01

Priest base kit: Cure Light Wounds, Bane and Holy Imbue

The official Priest card describes a caster that heals and buffs allies while debuffing enemies, building FTH and CON. Your Simple Tome gives 3 FTH. Current values from v0.5.1 community notes:

AbilityLevelEnergy / cooldownEffect
Cure Light Wounds11 / 3 turnsHeals one ally for 7 + 2% MaxHeal, Cleanse (1)
Bane33 / 5 turns13 Dark damage, 2.5% FTH scaling, undodgeable, Vulnerable (3), Crippled (3)
Holy Imbue52 / 5 turnsHeals all allies for 6 + 2.5% MaxHeal, Imbued (3)

The Trello card still shows older numbers (Holy Imbue on a 7-turn cooldown with 4% MaxHeal, Bane at 14 damage). Vulnerable makes the target take 25% more damage and Crippled halves its dodge chance, so Bane sets up your whole party.

Holy Imbue and healing scaling

Holy Imbue gives every ally three turns of Imbued (0.9x damage taken), so cast it before a boss's big turn. Since v0.5.1, MaxHeal uses the ally's Max HP, not yours. Base heals have no direct FTH scaling, but each FTH point adds 0.7% Outgoing Healing; Bane and all subclass damage spells scale with FTH directly. See stats.

02

Priest skill tree and upgrades

The tree has seven nodes with five ranks each; a node needs rank 3 before its neighbors open. Values are per point:

  • Blessings of Greater Faith: +2% incoming healing.
  • Advanced Restoration: +2% outgoing healing.
  • Faith Rewarded: +2% total FTH (multiplicative).
  • HP: +2 Max HP.
  • Stat Points: +1 starting stat point.
  • Gathering Darkness: +2% Dark damage.
  • Conqueror's Wraith: +2% Holy damage.

Skill points come from Prestige, your permanent class level: three per level, refunded on a reset. Abilities also upgrade up to Tier 5, but per-tier values are not documented well enough to list.

03

Priest subclasses: Druid, Zealot and Occultist

Druid, Zealot and Occultist come from the Forest, Dungeon and Sewer, each unlocked through an encounter while you are still a base Priest. Community encounter tables give these three encounters extra weight while you play Priest, so they show up more often.

SubclassHow to unlockPlaystyleKey abilities
DruidForest, A Resting Druid: Speak with the druid, Ask for guidance, Listen to his lecture, Swear the OathSummons, buffs, RegenerationNature's Gift, Summon Animal Companion, Poison Spray, Restore Life
ZealotDungeon, A Single Zealot: Approach the priest, Learn the knowledgeHoly AoE damage plus base healsHoly Flame, Flash of Light, Smite
OccultistSewer, Cult Ritual: Rush to aid the ritual, win the fight, then I'm listening... and Become an occultistChaotic healer with random effects, sub-DPSEmbrace Chaos, Chaotic Reshaping, Mind Blast, Nightmare

The community video How To Train Your Priest (October 2026) walks through all three.

Druid

Druid keeps the base kit and adds Nature's Gift (Lv 1: Sacred Armament, Cleanse 2 and Regeneration 2 on one ally), a bear summon at Lv 4 (20 base HP plus 0.9% FTH scaling), Poison Spray (Lv 6) and Restore Life (Lv 6: Cleanse 3 and Regeneration 4 on all allies). Sacred Armament turns physical hits into Holy damage with an FTH-based bonus, so it is best on a physical carry such as a Warrior (editorial). The Druid card lists older levels. Rejecting the oath gives +3% incoming and outgoing healing; attacking starts a fight with Grovetender Kai and his bear Paul.

Zealot

Zealot adds Holy Flame (Lv 1: 8 Holy damage to all enemies, Holy Fire 3), Flash of Light (Lv 4: Blinded 2 on all enemies) and Smite (Lv 6: 15 Holy damage, 3.5% FTH, Blinded 3 and Holy Fire 3). Undead take 1.2x Holy damage in v0.5.1, a big edge in the Dungeon. The encounter's other branches are "Ask for help" (40% Max HP heal, a Healing Potion, one Exhaustion cleansed) or attacking him (100 HP solo) for a guaranteed Shepherding Soul; you pick one.

Occultist

Occultist arrived in v0.4.5 (June 2026), after the Trello's last update. Embrace Chaos replaces Cure Light Wounds, Chaotic Reshaping heals the party, and Mind Blast (Lv 8) and Nightmare (Lv 10: 16.5 Dark damage) add damage. Each cast applies random effects and builds Corrupting Chaos: mutations at 3, 5 and 10 stacks, self-damage from 5 stacks, and (since v0.5.1.3) a 1% tilt toward good outcomes per stack. The Sewer is an optional Dungeon sub-area, and community notes advise against the unlock fight solo.

04

Best Priest build (editorial, as of Alpha v0.5.1, October 2026)

  • Stats: FTH first, CON second. FTH drives Bane, subclass damage, the bear's HP and Outgoing Healing; CON adds Max HP and incoming healing.
  • Skill tree (reasoned from the node values): healers take Advanced Restoration and Faith Rewarded, Zealot takes Faith Rewarded and Conqueror's Wraith, and Occultist takes Gathering Darkness for Bane and Nightmare. HP and Stat Points help any build.
  • Subclass: Druid for solo and early safety (the Forest is the first area), Zealot for Dungeon damage, Occultist for experienced groups. See the tier list.

05

Priest boons, including Critical Healing

You get five boon slots; each boon unlocks through an achievement and is bought with Cealts. Priest-relevant v0.5.x values:

BoonSlotsHow to unlockEffect
Critical Healing3Heal 500+ in one matchDirect heals can crit for 65% of your crit damage; FTH gains INT-rate crit scaling
Selfless Heart2A party member passes the Altar FTH check1.2x outgoing healing, 0.8x incoming healing, 0.9x damage
Cleansing2Become DruidHeals remove 1 stack of most DoTs; 0.8x healing
Divine Retribution3Become Zealot1.1x FTH and Holy damage, 0.85x Dark damage, 0.8x healing, take 1.1x damage
Summoner Supreme2Become Necromancer (Mage)Summons get 1.25x HP and 1.1x damage

The Trello cards for Divine Retribution, Cleansing and Selfless Heart show older, harsher numbers. Editorial picks: Critical Healing plus Selfless Heart fills all five slots for a party healer. A solo Druid should skip Selfless Heart (the Trello notes warn it cuts self-healing) and try Summoner Supreme. Critical Healing and Divine Retribution (3 slots each) cannot run together. More on the boons page.

Priest gear: tomes and robes

Tomes are Priest's weapons. Values from v0.5.x community notes:

Grovetender's Robes (chest)10 FTH, 4 CHA, 10% outgoing healing; summons gain 3 RegenerationLoving Soul from Grovetender Kai

The Zealot's Tome card lists 14 FTH; v0.5.x notes list 16. Browse weapons for the rest.

07

Solo vs party Priest

The official Roblox page says the game is built for 3–4 players but supports 1–5. Community notes say each extra player raises enemy HP and damage, while solo runs lower enemy dodge and block chance by 5%.

  • Party: Holy Imbue, Restore Life and Selfless Heart make the classic healer.
  • Solo: community notes call Druid one of the few comfortable solo picks thanks to its early unlock, Regeneration and a bear that hits and soaks damage.
  • Avoid dying: each Exhaustion stack cuts Outgoing Healing by 20%.
  • Race (editorial): Human's 1.05x bonus to your highest stat suits pure FTH, and Drakai's FTH-scaled poison chance pairs with Poison Spray. See races.

FAQ

What are the Priest subclasses in An Average Campaign?

Druid (Forest, A Resting Druid), Zealot (Dungeon, A Single Zealot) and Occultist (Sewer, Cult Ritual). Each requires you to be a base Priest.

How do you get Zealot in An Average Campaign?

As a Priest, pick A Single Zealot in the Dungeon, choose "Approach the priest", then "Learn the knowledge". Fighting him instead drops a Shepherding Soul for the Zealot's Tome.

What does Holy Imbue do?

It heals all allies for 6 + 2.5% MaxHeal and gives three turns of Imbued, cutting damage taken to 0.9x. It costs 2 energy with a 5-turn cooldown.

How does Critical Healing work in AAC?

A 3-slot boon unlocked by healing 500 or more in one match. Direct heals can then crit for 65% of your crit damage.

Is Priest good solo?

Druid is the safest solo Priest thanks to Regeneration and the bear. The Occultist unlock fight is not recommended solo.
