Looking for the An Average Campaign sword in the stone event? The Sword in the Stone is a rare Forest encounter where you try to draw a blade from a rock. Every pull gives you a stat point, and the right class also gets a small weapon roll: the Linked Sword (5%, Warrior line and Jack of All Trades) or the Sword in Stone greatsword (10%, Rampager only). Pulling the Linked Sword once unlocks The Chosen One boon, which guarantees it from then on while equipped.
This page is based on the official Trello cards for the event, both swords and The Chosen One, the official Roblox game page, and player-documented notes for Alpha v0.5.1, all checked on 2026-10-20. The Trello board was last edited in April 2026, so we flag where newer patch notes disagree. AAC is in Alpha, and chances and stats can change in any patch.

Where The Sword in the Stone appears
The event only shows up in the Forest, the first main area, where every run starts. It has eight stages with the Giant boss on stage 8, and after each round you pick one of three offered encounters. See the rest on the events page.
Community encounter tables for v0.5.1 give The Sword in the Stone a weight of 1, while most Forest encounters sit at 2, so it is offered about half as often as a typical encounter. No round window or class bonus is listed. The one listed modifier is The Chosen One boon, which raises its weight to 7.

You find a clearing with a sword stuck in a large stone. Leave, or approach and choose how to pull.

- It is a flat roll, not a skill check. Current community notes say the 5% does not change with your stats. The older Trello card for Sword in Stone adds a 10 STR minimum for Rampagers, which newer notes do not mention.
- Failing costs nothing. You keep the stat point and no penalty is listed, so approaching always beats walking away. Spend stat points on the stats your build needs.
- Rampager is the Warrior subclass taught at A Powerful Stranger in the Forest. Grudge Settler is learned in the Mines, which you enter by leaving the Forest through Elven Camp, so most Forest rolls come from a base Warrior, a Rampager or Jack of All Trades. Knight is not on the list.

Vulnerable makes the target take 25% more damage and Fractured 1.3x more. The Legendary Blade buff raises your outgoing damage 1.25x and does not decay on its own.
Editorial take, as of Alpha v0.5.1 (October 2026): Sword in Stone hits harder, and Legendary Blade is a reliable opener that buffs you and softens the target. Plan on one use per fight given the 999 cooldown, and note the -16 DEX costs Initiative (Trello: 1 per 20 DEX). The Linked Sword is steadier: Lunge is cheap, returns every 6 turns and applies Vulnerable, which helps the whole party.
Community notes also list Linked Destiny upgrades. Beat the Mines final boss with the Linked Sword equipped to receive Firebrand (17 STR, 12 CON, 5% Block DR, Burn on hit). Beat the Sewer final boss with it equipped to receive Venomshank (15 STR, 10 DEX, 5% Crit Chance, 5% Crit Damage, Poison on hit).

The Chosen achievements and The Chosen One boon
- The Chosen: pull the Linked Sword from the stone. Current notes describe doing it with the tug as a Warrior. It unlocks The Chosen One boon.
- The Chosen?: pull the Sword in Stone as a Rampager with the hard pull. No boon is listed for it.
The Chosen One is bought from the Tavern Master in the lobby, like other boons. Per v0.5.1 notes it costs 250 Cealts and 3 of your 5 boon slots. It guarantees the Linked Sword when you meet the requirements, makes your stats 25% more effective in skill checks, and raises the event's weight to 7. With Destined Path: Hero of Elfkin, it also unwraps the Wrapped Ancient Elven Blade once at the start.
Editorial take, as of Alpha v0.5.1 (October 2026): three slots is steep. It pays off if you main the Warrior line and want a Linked Sword every run plus help on the Forest's STR, DEX, INT and CHA checks.

How to farm The Sword in the Stone
- Play the Warrior line. Warrior can roll the Linked Sword, and community tables show the Warrior class raising the weight of A Powerful Stranger, the Rampager trainer. See the classes page for the full roster.
- Take the event whenever the Forest offers it. Tug for the Linked Sword; as a Rampager, pull hard for the Sword in Stone.
- Unlock The Chosen first. After your first Linked Sword, equip The Chosen One so the event appears far more often and the tug always succeeds.
- Know the limit. The guarantee only covers the Linked Sword. No source says the boon improves the 10% Sword in Stone roll, though it gives you more attempts.

Solo and party play
The official Roblox description says the game is built for 3 to 4 players but supports 1 to 5. Neither the Trello cards nor the community notes give this event a party-size condition, so it works solo as long as your class qualifies. In a party, we could not confirm whether each eligible player rolls separately or who receives the sword.

How do you get the Sword in the Stone in An Average Campaign?
Take the Forest encounter when offered. As a Rampager, choose "Pull as hard as you can" for a 10% shot at the Sword in Stone; as a Warrior-line player or Jack of All Trades, choose "Give it a nice little tug" for a 5% shot at the Linked Sword.
What are the Sword in the Stone requirements?
Sword in Stone is Rampager only. The Linked Sword needs Warrior, Rampager, Grudge Settler or Jack of All Trades. The older Trello card also lists 10 STR for the Rampager pull.
Is there an Excalibur in AAC?
Not by that name. No item list we checked has an Excalibur; the legendary blade here is the Sword in Stone.
Is "Will you prove worthy?" the Sword in the Stone achievement?
No. It is for becoming a Gloom Stalker as a Ranger. The sword achievements are The Chosen and The Chosen?.
Can you farm the Sword in the Stone?
